Chapter 16 | How to present responsibilities without sounding flat

Not everything in a CV will be a major achievement, some parts of your role still need to be understood, but the

key is to present responsibilities in a way that still reflects scope and value.

Instead of:

Responsible for managing a team

Try:

Managed a team of 12 across day-to-day service delivery, workload allocation, performance support, and issue

resolution.

Instead of:

In charge of compliance

Try:

Oversaw compliance activity across documentation, process adherence, and internal standards, helping maintain operational consistency and reduce risk.

The difference is specificity.
